With a background in Women and Gender Studies, Barbara Handfield has worked as a Licensed Life Coach for over sixteen (16) years in the Turks and Caicos Islands. Aside from working with women and men in the areas of marginalization, gender socialization and equality, one of the areas she has done tremendous work in is domestic violence. She has worked with Turks and Caicos Islanders and persons within the varied expatriate communities that live and work in the Turks and Caicos Islands. She is on a continued search to understand and learn about the dynamics surrounding domestic violence and the effects it has on each partner and family members.
