Meet Our Authors

Kordell Campbell Forbes

Kordell Campbell-Forbes grew up in the community of Sandy Point on the island of North Caicos with
her maternal grandparents Emmanuel Campbell (deceased) and Annis 'Tappy' Campbell. She is the oldest of three daughters born to her mother, Comonseta Campbell. Kordell is an educator, writer,
devoted wife and mother. 

Emily Malcolm

Emily Lorlene Albertha Malcolm LSM is a retired civil servant who is a teacher by profession. Although not actively engaged in a regular classroom setting for an entire day, she assists children with their homework and reading skills. She is multitalented and loves to do embroidery and shell craft, bake, cook and create fruit and vegetable drinks.

Emily is an Accredited Local Preacher in the Methodist Church of the Caribbean and the Americas. She has served as District Commissioner for Salt Cay and twice for South Caicos.

She is fond of her cultural heritage and lovingly recalls her childhood days of play, work and education. She shares her "Memories of her beloved South Caicos" with today's children and youth, as written about in her first book.

Meline Jean Louis

Meline Jean-Louis is a poet and mother,who lives in the beautiful paradise of the Turks and Caicos Islands. She enjoys motivating others and runs a podcast that
provides inspiration for youths.

 

Desiree Adams Robinson

Desiree Adams Robinson was born on the island of Grand Turk and presently resides on the island of Providenciales.

After completing Primary and Secondary School in the
TCI she pursued a Certificate in Food & Beverage Management and a Diploma in Hotel Management at
the University of Technology, Jamaica. She completed her Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality
Management at Johnson and Wales University and her
Masters in Business Administration (Management) at
the University of Tampa. Professionally, she has
worked in Hospitality, Tourism, and Education.

Since 2018 she has been an entrepreneur of Desiree Adams Training (DAT). She loves God sincerely and wishes for family, friends, and all others to succeed in their life’s calling.

Altrisha Robinson

 

Altrisha Robinson is a former English teacher from the Turks and Caicos Islands who now resides in England. She's a noteworthy up and coming author who has co-authored two amazing novels 'The Lonely Wish-giver' and 'Frozen by Fire' organized and published by writing giant Grammarly. These days you can find her researching for her newest crime series, enjoying the diverse British weather or with her nose in a good novel.

Altrisha is the co-author of Everyone's Home, her first children's picture book!

Keisha Handfield

Keshia Handfield is a business graduate, writer and creative artist. She has always had a passion for helping children develop and explore their creative interest and talents. Keshia attended the Nova Southeastern University and is a graduate of the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship where she achieved her Bachelor of Science and Master of International Business Administration degrees. Professionally, she works within the finance sector. Her hobbies include singing, dancing, interior decorating and working with children. She currently lives on the beautiful island of Providenciales in the Turks and Caicos Islands. Keisha is the co-author of Everyone's Home, her first children's picture book!

Tatiana Handfield

Tatiana Handfield is a trained teacher of English Language and Literature at the secondary level. She gained her Associate degree in Secondary Education (emphasis on English Language/Literature and Social Studies/History) at the local Turks and Caicos Islands Community College in 2010 and continued her education abroad in the UK where she gained a Bachelor of Arts in English from Oxford Brookes University in 2013 and a Masters in Language and Education from the University of Sheffield in 2020.

She enjoys writing short stories, poems, plays and children’s books which display and celebrate the vibrantly unique culture of the Turks and Caicos Islands. She is passionate about teaching others to write and encouraging children to unlock their creative potential. Tatiana is the Founder/Creative Director of Cyril and Dorsie Publishing.

Barbara Handfield

Barbara Handfield is an author and a Master Licensed Life coach. She is from the island of North Caicos. Ms. Handfield is the editor of GEEMS magazine and the founder and director of GEEMS Project TCI, an organization aimed at empowering, inspiring, and motivating residents toward a healthy and productive lifestyle. The organization is based on the simple principle of adding value.
